TWO NCR-SPECIFIC POINTS
Thickness rules, and what cold does to cheap film
  • We quote to the rule, not under it. Carry bags have carried a 120 micron minimum since the end of 2022. If a quote you are holding is thinner and cheaper, that is why. We will not match it.
  • Know which rule applies to your item. An industrial liner, a courier mailer and a retail carry bag are governed differently. Tell us the use and we will tell you the number.
  • Cold does not bother virgin LDPE. It stays flexible well below freezing, which is why frozen-food and cold-store packing uses it.
  • Cold does bother recycled blends. Gels and hard specks act as crack initiation points, so bags that survived October split in January. If handling is cold, specify virgin.

Making a 2,200 km route economic

Freight on LDPE is charged by the space it occupies, not by weight. A truck fills long before it reaches its load limit, so distance shows up in the delivered price more visibly than with dense goods. Three things move the number:

  • Consolidate. One monthly dispatch across all your sizes instead of a weekly trickle. This is the single biggest lever.
  • Right-gauge the spec. Most NCR buyers arrive over-specced by 20 to 30 micron on liners. Taking weight out of the film takes it off both the material and the freight.
  • Standardise sizes. Four sizes running long makes better film and a fuller truck than eleven near-identical ones.

And the honest limit: for lowest-spec commodity film bought on price alone, a converter in Bahadurgarh will beat our delivered cost. Buy from them. What travels is the documented spec, the published tolerance and the consistency, not the commodity.
