Film that is 5 mm too wide jams a former. Film with a wandering gauge burns seals and stops a line mid-shift. We wind to your machine spec, and we hold gauge tolerance tight because that is what keeps your line running.
Get a film quote →Every film enquiry we quote well starts with the same four numbers: lay-flat width, micron, core ID and roll OD limit. If you send those, you get a real quote the same day instead of three rounds of email.
Buyers negotiate on micron. Production managers lose sleep over gauge variation. They are not the same thing, and the second one is what stops your line.
Blown film comes off the die as a bubble. If air cooling is uneven or the die is not clean, the wall thickness varies around the circumference. Wind that up and you get a roll that is thick on one side, which shows up as:
Gauge is checked across the web during the run, not just at the start. Rolls are wound with controlled tension so they do not telescope in the truck. On FFS film we hold tighter tolerance than on general film, because the cost of a jam is an hour of your line, not a few rupees of ours. The full test list is on quality and specs.
Same micron on paper, different film in the machine. That is a gauge variation problem, and it is the most common reason a buyer changes film supplier.
If you already buy film and want a comparison quote, courier us two metres off the roll. We measure gauge with a micrometer at multiple points, check the seal and read the blend. Then we quote either the same spec or a cheaper one that behaves identically. That second outcome is more common than you would expect, because film specs tend to drift upward over years of small requests and nobody ever revisits them.
