Our line sits on the coast at Kovalam, so the Tamil Nadu farming belt runs past our gate and the Andhra belt is a day away. Aquaculture asks two hard things of polythene: seams that hold water, and film that stays tough at freezer temperature.
150 to 250 micron, oxygen filled and tied, double bagged, gusseted with rounded corners. Sized to your stocking density rather than to a standard.
Hatchery and tank liners
Virgin liners for nursery tanks, FRP and cement tanks and biofloc setups. Cut to the tank, not folded to fit. Liner bags →
Ice and slurry bags
75 to 100 micron, tough wet and cold, for on-farm and on-boat icing. Wicketed or on a roll for fast filling.
Block and carton liners
Food-grade virgin liners for frozen blocks and master cartons, flexible at blast-freezer temperature, documented per lot. Food-grade specs →
BUYING RULE FOR AQUACULTURE FILM
Specify the seam and the temperature, not just the micron
Water is a load. A seed bag holds 8 to 12 litres pressing outward on a bottom seal for hours in a moving vehicle. Tell us the water weight, not the bag size, and we will spec the seal.
Double bag, always. One pinhole should cost you a bag, not a consignment. The second bag is the cheapest insurance in the whole operation.
Freezer work must be virgin. Gels and hard specks in recycled blends become crack initiation points below zero. This is not a small effect at minus 30.
Product contact means paperwork. Virgin food-grade resin with a lot-linked declaration, because your export buyer will ask and your processor's audit will check.
Coastal sun and salt are brutal. Anything stored in an open yard needs a UV grade or it goes chalky in a season.
Seed transport: the bag is the vehicle
For a hatchery, the transport bag is not packaging. It is life support for eight to twelve hours: water, an oxygen headspace, a live animal and a road. Everything in the spec follows from that.
Gauge by species and haul. Soft-bodied fry on a short run manage at 150 micron. Spiny or hard-rayed juveniles need 200 to 250, or a paper sleeve between the two bags to take the punctures.
Geometry matters. Gussets and rounded corners stop the water pooling into a stressed point. Square corners are where bags split.
Headspace is part of the size. A bag sized only for the water leaves no oxygen volume, and a bag with too much slack lets the load slosh. Give us both numbers.
Keep print off the seal. Ink across a seal area is a leak waiting to happen. Farm name and batch details belong on the panel, small and clear.
Where LDPE is the wrong answer
Large pond lining. If you are lining a hectare of earthen pond, that is HDPE geomembrane at 500 micron and up, welded on site by a crew that does nothing else. We do not make it and we will not sell you a stack of LDPE sheet to substitute for it. Nursery tanks, biofloc tanks, crates and cartons are ours; the pond is not.
Export packing: where the paperwork lives
Frozen shrimp and fish leave the processor as blocks or IQF product in lined master cartons, and the liner is the only thing between the product and the board. Two things get checked, and it is rarely the price.
The declaration. Food-contact status, resin grade and lot linkage, so a consignment can be traced back to the film it travelled in. We issue it per lot rather than as a one-time certificate.
Low-temperature toughness. Blocks are handled hard and cold. Virgin film takes that; blended film cracks and you find out at the buyer's end.
One honest limit worth knowing: LDPE resists moisture well and gases poorly. It is the right film for freezer contact and physical protection, and the wrong film if you need an oxygen barrier for long chilled shelf life. That is a laminate, and we will tell you so rather than quote thicker polythene. See what we document per lot →
Coastal belts we supply
Tamil Nadu coast
Marakkanam, Cuddalore, Sirkazhi, Nagapattinam and Thoothukudi. Our closest market, often next-day. Chennai and TN →
Andhra belt
Nellore, Ongole, Bhimavaram and West Godavari. Typically 7 to 12 days including delivery.
Tell us the stage: hatchery, farm, ice or export packing. For seed bags send water volume, species and haul time. For export liners send the carton and the buyer's paperwork requirement. One working day.
