The east buys differently from the rest of India. Tea, leather, fish and jute are all hygroscopic or perishable, so the liner spec matters more than the bag price. That is the work we are set up for.

WHAT LDPE DOES AND DOES NOT DO
Good against water, poor against aroma
LDPE is a strong moisture barrier. For tea, leather, spices and dry goods travelling through an eastern monsoon, a properly closed 75 to 100 micron liner is the right tool.
LDPE is a weak gas and aroma barrier. It will not hold volatiles in, or oxygen out, for months. Long-shelf-life aroma retention needs a metallised or foil laminate.
If you ask us for a barrier we cannot deliver in polythene, you will get that sentence rather than a thicker liner and a shrug.
Sealing beats thickness. Most humidity failures we are shown are open folds and untaped mouths, not film that let water through.
Buying from 1,700 km away, sensibly
Road transit to Kolkata runs 14 to 20 days from confirmation, and the route rewards planning. Large consolidated lots can also move by rail or coastal service where your timing allows, which changes the freight arithmetic in your favour.
Worth the distance
Documented food-contact work. Tea and seafood exporters get audited by their buyers. Lot-linked declarations and resin traceability are the whole reason to look outside your district.
Seasonal volumes booked ahead. Tea and fishing seasons are predictable. Booked film costs less than emergency film.
Consistent gauge on machine film. If a form-fill-seal line is stalling on gauge variation, published tolerances are worth the route.
Not worth the distance
Small urgent commodity orders. Howrah and Baruipur have converters who will serve you faster and cheaper on plain bags, and we would rather tell you that than take one bad order.
Tell us the product going inside the liner, the season you need it for and the volume. We will spec micron and closure, then quote with freight as its own line.
